Supervision
Are you looking for a Supervisor in Texas?
My specialty is helping new therapists find and clarify their inherent skills and talents.
Are you looking for a Supervisor in Texas?
My experience supervising associate therapists for the past decade has made it clear that importance of fit is the highest predictor of a great outcome-much like the therapist/client relationship.
You are a great candidate if:
You are mature, open to input, willing to work hard to market your practice and may have had your own business.
You felt ostracized or silenced in graduate school due to your philosophical or spiritual beliefs
You had questions about the ideological lens through which your program viewed therapy and as a result, had to self censor.
You are frustrated by the therapeutic education you received because of a lack of focus on clinical skills, but instead were taught how to “advocate”, “broach” and overly focus on social justice issues.
You want to learn more about and consider being trained in Psychedelic and/or Ketamine Assisted therapy, but feel like an outsider due to the ideological culture of the psychedelic space.
If this describes your experience, I would love to have a conversation about working together.
First, I will read through your application and if I think it may be a good fit, I will reach out to schedule an interview.
Months 1-6 will be focused on a combination of topics that revolve around getting you very comfortable with state laws, ethics, and the business of practice.
Months 7-12 we will hone in on your clinical approach, through the lens of Transpersonal and Contemplative Psychotherapy- my specialties. This is the clinical modality used as the basis for Ketamine Assisted Therapy as well as psychedelic work.
Year 2 (months 13-18), if you are interested in Ketamine work, I will ask that you take a 12 hour training, and we will begin to explore the very unique standards, practices and protocols for offering KAP work in your therapy practice.
If you are not wanting to add KAP, we will deepen in your clinical approach and the practice of practice through deep dives into your cases.
Additional requirements:
You will be asked to guide brief, informal information sessions in group supervision throughout the 18 months.
You will also be required to attend BHEC meetings at least two times per year.
Texas law requires that we meet for 4 hours a month.
2 hours will be individual, held two times a month. These meetings will be scheduled based on mutual availability.
2 hours will be held in a monthly group supervision session, held on the third Thursday, 11am-1pm.
Payment will be made monthly at the rate of $560, with no refunds.
Cancellations and no shows will be required to be rescheduled in order to meet the Texas requirement and will be charged at the hourly rate ($140).
